Ok, this is only a rumour for now. But when you think about it, it could really make sense.
On one side you have Alex Tanguay who, apparently, is unhappy playing for coach Mike Keenan and on the other side you have Alex Kovalev who has criticized his coach Guy Carbonneau no later than last game, blaming his decisions for the loss against the Panthers.
And, unfortunately for Kovalev, despite his tremendous talent, his lack of heart has made him somewhat unpopular with the fans in Montreal.
Last season, Tanguay scored 22 goals and a career best 81 points while Kovalev only scored 18 goals and 47 points. Even though this might look uneven when looking at last season’s stats, you have to take into consideration that Kovalev would probably play with Jarome Inginla in Calgary, while Tanguay would most certainly end up on the 2nd line in Montreal as the 1st line is pretty much set in stone.
The only negative point about this rumour is that Kovalev is 34 years old, 6 years older than Tanguay. Other than that it would probably be good for both players and both teams.
